Traveling nationwide for more than 13 years managing a wide range of environments and live events combined with a passion for educating others, motivated Heath to launch Shue Creek Tactical in late 2024. Observing the growing need for individual safety and protection skills, Heath wanted to build a training resource to help individuals expand their situational awareness and further their knowledge of firearms whether foundational basic skills or more enhanced tactics while also being a resource to larger companies and events looking to develop broader internal policies. Bringing together a team with a wide range of backgrounds spanning decades in law enforcement to vast technical and logistical expertise, his goal was to offer students often unattainable access to high-level knowledge and extensive skills. Heath’s extensive background in firearms handling, real-life scenarios, high-pressure situations, live event crisis protocols combined with staying up to date with training tactics and NRA certifications bring an elevated approach to classes and ensure that students and clients are provided with the tools to navigate a wide range of situations.

With more than 27 years of law enforcement experience and over two decades specializing in tactical operations and firearms instruction, Jason focuses on providing firearms and personal defense training for civilians with the goal to equip responsible citizens with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to protect themselves and others safely and legally.

A certified Firearms Instructor, Tactical Team Instructor, and Use of Force Instructor through the Idaho Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Academy, Jason spent his career teaching tactical principles to both law enforcement and the public. His civilian courses emphasize safe gun handling, realistic defensive tactics, situational awareness, and decision-making under pressure.

Jason’s law enforcement background includes leadership roles in tactical response, narcotics, and gang investigations. He served on the Tactical Response Team (SWAT) for 24 years rising through the ranks and spent 15 years as the Tactical Team Commander, with the last two year as the Special Operations Group Commander overseeing the tactical unit, bomb unit, negotiations unit, civil disturbance team. 

Jason has been part of high-risk operations involving active threats, hostage situations, and coordinated SWAT missions. These experiences directly inform the training he provides to civilians—translating complex, high-stress encounters into practical skills that everyday people can use.

Whether you're new to firearms or seeking advanced tactical instruction, Jason’s training focuses on mindset, discipline, and preparedness, not fear or intimidation. He strives to create a professional, approachable, and respectful learning environment where safety is always the top priority.

A competitive shooter across multiple affiliations including NRL22, PRS22, PRO Series and many more for just under a decade, Matthew has accumulated numerous championship titles and accolades over the years. Facing off in a competitive environment against other top-tier shooters has allowed him to stay current in the latest tools and technology that aid in precision and accuracy. Matthew’s goal is to help students build confidence and accuracy by learning to adjust their techniques, navigate various environments and utilize electronic devices alongside a wide variety of gear to hunt, compete or even improve general target practice. 

With a passion and affinity for firearms that spans multiple decades, Geoff puts his skills to work every day as the owner of Huron Guns & Ammo located in South Dakota. Known in the industry for his hands-on approach and elevated skills both in competition, real-world applications and in an educational setting, his unmatched knowledge of firearms, repair, ammunition and more combine to give students the best possible advice for selecting the most appropriate firearm or accessories to fit them and their practical needs. Enhancing students’ experience and knowledge while growing their comfort and confidence in their personal firearm is Geoff’s goal.
